BBC2 repeating Dwarf as part of '80s night. UPDATE: And RDX showing in the US!

13 June, 2014

Sunday 30th December 2007. That's the last time Red Dwarf was shown on its original parent channel BBC2, as a festive repeat run of Series I (handily timed to help promote the just-released Bodysnatcher Collection boxset) came to an end. But pretty soon, it won't be the last time any more.

Yes, that's right - Red Dwarf is making a brief comeback to BBC2, with a special repeat scheduled this weekend as part of a generally 1980s-themed night of programming. As such, on Saturday 14th June at 10pm, you'll be able to tune in and watch the Series III classic Marooned.

Of course, we're always happy to see showings of Red Dwarf wherever they're broadcast - but it's nice, in this celebratory BBC2 year, to see it make a return visit to its first home. And it's even nicer for those of you have absolutely no interest in the World Cup and are looking for something else to watch...

UPDATE: Word has also just reached us that our chums over at PBS in the United States are running a Series X marathon next week. The affiliate station KCTS 9, based in Seattle, Washington, will be showing all six episodes back-to-back on both Wednesday 18th June at 7pm and Friday 20th June at 10pm, and have even knocked up a nifty bespoke trailer for the series:

KCTS are the second US-based affiliate to pick up the tenth series - after Dallas-based KERA showed the episodes last year. What's more, as the channel is also available on cable networks across Canada, that makes the first time Series X will have been available in the country that has by far the biggest moose population in the world. Just watch out if you're driving...
