Ackerman is Backerman

Graham McTavish is the latest DJXVIII guest.

30 January, 2015

It's been a couple of months since last announcement of a Dimension Jump XVIII guest, so we reckon it's about time for another one. Better than that, how about we exclusively reveal to you the name of the next high-profile celeb in attendance before the Fan Club have even got around to emailing members about it?

(Don't worry, we're not spoiling their fun: they told us we could do it.)

Anyway, fans of The Hobbit will be delighted to know that Dwalin himself, Graham McTavish, will be appearing at the convention. You might also know Graham from his roles in hit US dramas Lost, Prison Break and 24 - or, from the days before the Scottish-born actor went to find fame Stateside, appearances in the likes of Jekyll, Casualty and Ali G Indahouse.

Ackerman is Backerman

Oh, and he played Warden "Nicey" Ackerman in Series VIII of Red Dwarf. Of course. We knew there was something we were forgetting.

This will actually be Graham's second appearance at a Dimension Jump convention - he first attended at DJIX, all the way back in 2002 (although he was originally slated to appear in 2000 before an unfortunate mixup involving dates) - and he joins a guest list that already includes Chris Barrie, Danny John-Jules, Robert Llewellyn and Hattie Hayridge, as well as Graham's fellow Series VIII stars Mac McDonald and The Shend.

The convention takes place between Friday 1st and Sunday 3rd May 2015, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Nottingham. Weekend passes cost £65 for fan club members, and £80 for non-members - and you can find all the details, as well as information on hotel bookings, at the DJ website. It's going to be a biggie. We'd hate for you to miss it.

For more about Graham, read our Mr Flibble interview from back in 2001!

While Grant Naylor Productions fully supports the Dimension Jump convention, please note that it is not a GNP event and is organised and run by the official Fan Club.
