Guests Get Ready To Jump

Dimension Jump XIX booking some big names.

24 February, 2017

The biggest weekend in the Red Dwarf calendar - the Official Fan Club convention, Dimension Jump XIX - is fast approaching. And although tickets for the event have now sold out - we're not certain, but we think this is one of the fastest ever sell-outs the club has ever had - we wanted to bring you news of the latest guest announcements; not to make those of you without tickets jealous, you understand, but just to make sure those who are going know what to expect.

Guests Get Ready To Jump

So the big news - which we can reveal here first - is that Danny John-Jules is the latest guest to be added to the roster, joining his main cast cohorts Chris Barrie, Robert Llewellyn and Hattie Hayridge. All of these guests are Dimension Jump staples, but as any fan who's been to a previous event will confirm, that doesn't mean they can't bring something new to the event every time they turn up - whether that's brand new anecdotes in the Q&As, or cutting a rug on the Saturday night dancefloor...

As well as the headline names, however, a surfeit of guest cast members have been announced since we last checked in. From Series XI's opening episode Twentica we've got not one, but two actresses: Suanne Braun, who played one of the American cops, and is also well-known for her role in Stargate: SG-1; and Lucie Pohl, the German-American standup comedian who was so memorable in her role as Harmony/Professor Baldwin.

And just in case you thought we'd forgotten about Red Dwarf X, the fan club have managed to round up one of the few major cast members who didn't manage to make it along to the 2013 event: Mark Dexter, who so brilliantly brought to life the role of Howard Rimmer. We're pretty excited about this one, and not just so that we can talk to him about beer.

DJ XIX is taking place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Nottingham on the weekend of 7th-9th April 2017 - we hope you've got your tickets booked, but if you can't be there, we'll try and bring you as many of the highlights as we can here and on social media! And, of course, there'll be another one along before too long, to cover the Series XII aftermath...
