British Comedy Guide Awards longlist now open.

While we wait patiently to hear whether Red Dwarf XI has made the shortlist for the National Television Awards later this month, it's already time to start thinking about awards for Red Dwarf XII. And when it comes to the British Comedy Guide Awards, well... we've actually got a title to defend. In fact, we've got two!

The awards, given out by the venerable website, are among the most notable awards for British comedy these days - certainly since the televised British Comedy Awards, which Red Dwarf was victorious at in 1994, came to an end - so it was a singular honour when, last year, Series XI scooped the awards not only for Best Returning Comedy, but also for Best Comedy full stop!

But this wouldn't happen without the faithful voting of you, the fanbase - so for Series XII, we're asking you to do it all over again! The first stage is the selection of a longlist, and nominations for that are open between now and 14th January - so you haven't got long to get in there and put Red Dwarf down in the eligible categories! Then, fingers crossed, if we make it on to the shortlist there'll be a second round of voting to determine the winner.

Back-to-back awards for the back-to-back series. It'd be nice, wouldn't it?
