Red Demand

All the places you can find Red Dwarf to stream and download.

19 July, 2019

The streaming service landscape is an ever-changing one, so every so often we like to check in and bring you up to date on exactly which platforms you can find the show to watch - either as part of an ongoing subscription, for a cost-per-episode download, or even just completely for free.

Red Demand

As ever, please note that the information below is correct to the best of our knowledge at the time of publication, and subject to change based on regional availability! And except where otherwise stated, the below services refer to UK availability only.

Netflix

The first eight series of the show are still available on the biggest of the streaming platforms, available in the UK. Netflix's prices changed last year, but the cheapest monthly package remains at £5.99, allowing you to watch in standard definition on one device at a time. You can upgrade to a Standard subscription which allows HD and two devices for £8.99, or four simultaneous devices and Ultra HD (where available) for £11.99.

Netflix can be watched on just about any device with a screen and an internet connection, with apps available for phones, tablets, games consoles, smart TVs, streaming sticks and a plain old web browser player.

Note that in some instances, the episodes featured on Netflix are not exactly the same as the DVD editions, and may feature music substitution or in some instances the "Xtended" editions. See our FAQ for more information.

UKTV Play

Want to watch Red Dwarf completely free? Well, thanks to UKTV, you can - their UKTV Play service offers all three full series (X, XI and XII) from the Dave era for streaming through a web browser or on apps for iOS, Android and Amazon devices. The only stipulation is that you have to register with a valid email address, and the platform is ad-supported.

Sky / Now TV

If you're a subscriber either to Sky's TV service or the streaming equivalent Now TV, you can now get the first eight series of the show as On Demand boxsets. Sky's boxsets are available with a variety of subscription TV packages - check their website for pricing and availability - and Now TV users can get the show as part of the £7.99 monthly Entertainment Pass.

If you're on Sky, you also get the entirety of the episodes that are available on UKTV Play as an On Demand package - meaning that all of the show, except for Back to Earth, is available to watch with your subscription!

Buy to Keep

A range of different platforms offer Red Dwarf episodes to own, rather than as part of a streaming subscription. Which one you'll want to use will depend on what particular devices you're choosing to watch on - plus the best pricing option at a given time - so consult the handy table below. Note that sometimes these services may have sales on that offer the episodes for less than the prices listed here, but prices are correct at the time of writing!

Britbox

This one's not a UK service, but worth noting for fans in the US and Canada - this BBC and ITV joint venture makes the show available across the pond for $6.99 per month or $69.99 per year. And it was announced earlier this year that the service will be launching a UK equivalent at some point soon - so we'll keep our eyes peeled and let you know if Red Dwarf is among the classic shows making an appearance...
