Me2

Written by Rob Grant & Doug Naylor
Directed by Ed Bye

Synopsis

Rimmer, the odious hologram, creates his perfect companion - an identical duplicate of himself. He moves out of the quarters he shares with Lister and starts rooming with his doppelganger. At first things are blissful, but the course of true love never runs smoothly, and soon the two Rimmers find themselves locked in a conflict so fierce, only one of them can survive.

Cast

Chris Barrie (Rimmer), Craig Charles (Lister), Danny John-Jules (Cat), Norman Lovett (Holly), Mac McDonald (Captain)

Did You Know?

A late replacement for the abandoned episode Bodysnatcher, Me2 benefitted from being written after rehearsals for the series had already begun - and so Rob and Doug were able to progress the show's character development before the first series had even finished.

The famous "Gazpacho Soup" story is based on an incident that actually happened to Rob and Doug - although unlike Rimmer, they never sent the soup back!
