Tikka to Ride with the numerous references to John F. Kennedy and J. Edgar Hoover(forced to run by the mob because they had pictures of him attending a transvestite orgy, no less)!

Episode from Series II...man, can't remember the name at the moment, but Holly asks Lister to erase all of his memories of Agatha Christie novels. He also mentions Kevin Keegan, author of "Football, it's a funny old game" but I don't know how much of a celebrity he is. ;-)

The Last Day, Lister builds the artificial Marilyn Monroe kit.

    Everyone's forgetting Back to Earth...

It'll be like a sort of modern Robin Hood! (Love Kryten's reaction to 'for having a stupid head')

Does the giant poster in the background of the DVD store featuring Sigourney Weaver circa "Aliens" count? ;-)

    Yeah I'd imagine so!

Off-topic I know but I'm curious as to who else noticed Die Screaming With Sharp Things in Your Head sitting in that store as well?

I'm also an Olivia Newton-John fan, and at least once a year, someone comes across Stasis Leak for the first time and complains about this quote on an Olivia fan board:
HOLLY: What I'm saying, Dave, is that it's better to have loved and to
have lost than to listen to an album by Olivia Newton-John.
    CAT: Why's that?
HOLLY: Anything's better than listening to an album by Olivia Newton-
    John

Or Thanks for the Memory, courtesy of Holly:

I'm pretty sure Tony Slattery played the vending machine in Only the good...

Off topic and doesn't really count as a reference but did anyone see the BBC special the other day "What's the matter with Tony Slattery?"

It's a very good watch if not a bit challenging and upsetting at points...

Yes, I saw that. It's sad to see the way he is now - he looks and sounds so different. I often wondered what had happened to him as he was on television so often in the 1980s and 1990s and then he suddenly vanished.

I spent a few years working in a bar beneath the theatre where his parter had a leading role. Tony looked and sounded so much healthier back then, but it was a long time ago...

Glad to see they are still together :-)

I remember him mostly from watching classic "Whose Line" episodes growing up.

A worthwhile special from the BBC..
