A brilliant and vivid new poster - makes it look really epic and I really hope it is indeed!

Yes, if this poster turns out to be a good representation of the special I'm going to be very happy.

I'm really excited now...it is only just over a week and a half away until we get brand new Red Dwarf for the first time in nearly 2 and a half years. Like I said in another post, I really hope it can provide a little bit of cheer in these dark times we are all going through at the moment.

BTW, in a post in the "I'm concerned" thread I mentioned that I had not seen any of the trailer...well that is mostly but not 100% true because without sound on twitter I saw a few small bits of it on Doug's account and it looked indeed epic and truly special.

Still like I said, we will have to see whether it finally fulfils the potential that long-form RD has and is no repeat of Pete or BtE (okay but the weakest RD run) again. But at the moment, the bits of the trailer I saw - with no dialogue of course - did appear superior so here's hoping!

Think in the case of BtE with the constraints of budget and having to reestablish itself to an audience that may be more unfamiliar with it, it can't really be seen as a true test of movie-length Red Dwarf. Now with a moderately big budget and Red Dwarf being a normal thing now, I'd say this would be the more representative of what a Red Dwarf movie would be.

I thought it was a little cheeky counting each sticker as a free gift, also the posters are double sided & on the back of the cut out paper doll Cat are some concept art drawing (sorry, forgot to take a photo of that :picard:)

Odd they have Cat in his golf cap but not an accompanying golf outfit. Unless they think he golfs in his zebra-print suit.

Also there's no Dwayne Dibbley outfit... Bit I like that the series I and VI versions have a different hair style. Nice detail.

I haven't read it all the way through, just the Red Dwarf bit really. It's quite interesting, no spoilers, mainly a chat with the crew about making the special & some retrospective bits (I'm guessing to bring a few people up to date with the story)

Fair enough...I suppose also Doug was trying to "get back into the game" and get back on the writing "bicycle" again (some of the dialogue and action in BtE was a bit lacklustre) so after the fairly resounding later RD period success of 10, 11 and 12 this will hopefully be his real chance to shine in extended form. Don't mention Pete though and some of Back in the Red Part 3...but I am definitely more upbeat for the chances of quality RD for just 5 days time now!
