Scrapheap Mega Challenge

Robert Llewellyn hosts a super-smashing instalment of Scrapheap Challenge.

20 December, 2002

Ah, Scrapheap Challenge. What finer way is there to spend a Sunday evening than watching two teams of motorheads attempting to build and activate a device for flinging a Ford Capri the furthest distance. And while there are never any serious injuries - damn those health and safety people! - you can pretty much guarantee that something will be wrecked by the time the credits roll.

Scrapheap Mega Challenge

Think on, then, for this Christmas regular hosts Robert Llewellyn and Lisa Rogers will be watching not two but three teams compete over who can construct the most successful flying machine. Taking the show back to the Wright brothers, Scrapheap Mega Challenge: Reach for the Skies will see teams from the UK, the States and France attempt to build an aeroplane from 1900s materials. You can find out who crashes hardest during their half-mile flight attempt on Channel 4, Sunday, December 22nd at 5.15pm.
