Reach For The Sky

Just who is the greatest ever SF robot?

3 September, 2004

To answer the question - it's Kryten. Obviously. But Sky One wants to know for sure. That's why, right now they're running three polls on their website in preparation for The Ultimate Sci-Fi Top Ten.

Reach For The Sky

As a matter of fact there are three top tens in the series - top ten moments, top ten robots and top ten aliens. Needless to say, Red Dwarf - featuring, as it does, a distinct lack of alien life - doesn't qualify for the latter. But Kryten must surely stand a chance against C3PO, K9 and The Terminator! And as for the greatest 'moment' - shrinking boxer shorts, anyone?

Shrinking boxer shorts, anyone?

Online voting is taking place right now, and the shows will be broadcast on Sky One at 8pm on Monday 13th, Monday 20th and Monday 27th of September. Aside from RD clips and interviews with genre experts like Gerry Anderson, Kim Newman and 'The Making of Red Dwarf' author Joe Nazarro, you might also see a few familiar Dwarf-y faces on the Robots show - including Robert Llewellyn, Rob Grant, and one of our very own über-fans, Mr James Bull.
