Czech This Out

Series I DVD now on release in the Czech Republic.

26 August, 2005

Out on August 24th, it's great to see Series I arrive in the Czech Republic. We've got copies of the Red Dwarf - or Cerveny Trpaslik - novels from the same territory, and the covers are huggably cool.

The huggably cool Czech Red Dwarf I cover

The same can be said for the Series I Czech menus, which have a totally unique design unlike any other region's release. The Chris Veale artwork used for the familiar-looking cover has been adapted and animated - lights blink, sections woosh open and closed, and the camera pans upward, to the top of the ship, to find the episode selections.

Obviously the real menus are slightly larger than this

There are no extras on this release, though you can listen to either the dubbed version of the show, or the original. (Subtitles are also available.) And the episodes are the currently-unavailable-in-the-UK remastered editions. There's also a Dwarf mini-site available, for those who speak the lingo - just click here.
