Welcome, our American and Canadian brethren, to Series VIII on DVD. Yes, all you Region 1 dwellers, it's finally time to get your hands on the extras-packed three-disc set, either as stand-alone release, or as part of the magnificent skutter gift set.

This, of course, concludes the regular series releases in all their feature-laden glory. Fifty-two commentary tracks, well over four hours of deleted scenes, plus documentaries, interviews, featurettes, raw footage... and a whole load of stuff that defies description. (The Backwards episode played forwards being just one example.)

We hope you enjoy the DVDs a great deal more than we enjoyed making them. (Seriously. The director took to believing in a 'lucky shirt' during production. It's not healthy.) And don't forget to keep an eye out for the early limited-edition packs that also include a set of five character-based collectors' cards.

The Series VIII DVD and Skutter Gift Set will be out in Region 1 on May 6th and available in-store and online from all the usual retailers.
