Spitting Image DVD

Available to own at last - a key part of Red Dwarf's history.

Network are releasing the first 12 episodes - series one and two - of Spitting Image on DVD on January 18th.

Do we really have to explain the importance of Spitting Image in the history of Red Dwarf? If we do, to be fair, you've probably not listened to the commentaries on The Bodysnatcher Collection, where Rob and Doug discuss how they went from the former show to the latter.

But it's worth remembering that the writers are not Dwarf's only ties to the puppet satire. Chris Barrie was a major part of the show's impression team, as was Meltdown's Noel Coward, actor Roger Blake (interviewed here). Series VI director Andy DeEmmony (interviewed here) had a stint directing the show, and even our casting director, Linda Glover (interviewed here), worked on it.

More releases will no doubt follow. We can't wait, frankly.
