Mac Packs For An SFXy Weekender

SFX magazine - which, you might recall, leant its support to Back to Earth in the form of a special edition cover featuring the Red Dwarf four - are launching a sci-fi and fantasy weekend... and, unsurprisingly, a few Red Dwarf names will be attending.

The SFX Weekender takes place on February 5th and 6th at the oddly beach-in-paradise-esque location of Camber Sands Holiday Camp in Sussex. You can get full details on the huge smattering of special guests, interviews/Q&As, workshops and signings from the SFX Weekender website - names like John Barrowman, James Marsters and Paul Cornell are on the roster - but who from the world of Dwarf is on the list?

Well, how about the towering form of Captain Hollister actor and ridiculously funny human being Mac McDonald? The man who gave voice to the most repeatedly-irritated captain in the Space Corps - as well as gooning for Jack Nicholson's Joker in Batman and bossing manfully around in James Cameron's Aliens - will be in attendance. Some kind of anti-side-splitting corset might be required.

Also in are Bill Pearson and Steve Begg. Who they? Only two model effects geniuses responsible for all kinds of cool prop and model stuff aboard Red Dwarf (check out Bill's Model Maker video on the Series VIII DVD), not to mention - variously - Casino Royale, Moon, Batman Begins and, oh yes, Alien. You may now be impressed.

Better yet, each two-person ticket (which includes a chalet room) is being offered at a 25% discount for readers of reddwarf.co.uk.

To claim this discount, when you book online simply enter the code backtoearth in the slot provided - or mention it when you book by phone on 08700 110034. Once again, that code is:

Don't forget it. (As if you could!) For all attendees, kids under 12 go for free, and there's 50% off for those under 16.
