Rob Grant Directs Edinburgh Show

Not content with a recent career of beautifully-crafted high-concept novels, Red Dwarf co-creator Rob Grant has taken to nurturing upcoming talent - and is now directing the 2011 Edinburgh show of near-unpronounceable comic duo Frimston and Rowett.

"Funnily enough, this came about entirely thanks to your website!" Robert Frimston told reddwarf.co.uk. "Around this time last year you posted a news item advertising the fact that Rob was running a comedy writing workshop in Camden. As a budding sketch writer and life-long Red Dwarf fan this caught my attention, so myself and my partner Edward Rowett got ourselves a spot on his course in October 2010."

"We were lucky enough to keep in touch with him afterwards, and not only did he come and see us perform a few weeks later, but offered to give us his feedback, guidance for our future writing and to be involved with our Edinburgh show. Needless to say we jumped at this incredible opportunity!"

The former Cambridge Footlights duo are running their show, Frimston and Rowett: A Sketch Show in Edinburgh from August 4th to 28th. You can grab details from their website.

"Getting the chance to work with Rob Grant has been a fantastic and humbling experience," says Frimston, "and we feel our show has improved by leaps and bounds through our rehearsals with him. Quite apart from anything else I wanted to say thank you, as it was the news story on your site that lead to us working with one of our heroes!"

You can creepily stalk Rob Grant on Twitter or via his website.
