iPlayer Gets Even More International

Australia joins the direct-access-to-great-telly-content party.

You might recall we recently told you that Red Dwarf was part of the launch line-up for the BBC Global iPlayer. Oh come on, yes you do. You were wearing that hat, remember?

The iPlayer app for iPad has now increased its reach, launching in Australia with access to a wealth of shows for A$9.49 a month (or A$89.99 a year). The app itself is free from the App Store.

This service has already been made available in eleven other territories: Germany, Italy, Spain, France, The Republic of Ireland, The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Portugal, Switzerland and Austria. European subscription for all content is €6.99 per month, with the annual subscription priced at €49.99.

Series I to III of Red Dwarf are currently available, with more likely to follow. Right now someone in Perth is settling down to enjoy Polymorph. Isn't that a lovely thought?
