Official fan club convention books a Lister.

21 September, 2012

We'll be honest - after a year that's given us a brand new series of Red Dwarf, it's going to be pretty difficult for 2013 to live up to the high standards set by 2012. But the Official Red Dwarf Fan Club are doing their part to help lift the year, and fill the gaping void left when the six-episode run ends this November, by holding the seventeenth Dimension Jump fan convention in May.

A weekend (Friday night to Sunday afternoon) hotel-based gathering of like-minded Dwarfers, Dimension Jump plays host to cast and crew Q&A sessions, quizzes, discos, stand-up comedy, memorabilia auctions, autograph sessions, exclusive video screenings, and a lot more besides. More importantly, it's a chance to kick back, relax and enjoy yourself with a couple of hundred other lovely people who just happen to love the world's greatest TV show.

Next year's event takes place on 3rd-5th May 2013 at the Birmingham City Centre Holiday Inn, and having already confirmed the appearances of Chris Barrie, Robert Llewellyn and - making his DJ debut - Tony Hawks, we're now delighted to announce that Craig Charles has also been booked to appear.

Craig At DJ

Craig has provided some of the most memorable DJ moments over the last few years - including a remarkably frank Q&A session in 2006, his impromptu conversation with a "double" in the audience in 2009, and a quite frankly show-stopping funk and soul DJ set on the Saturday night of 2011's event. His appearance next year is likely to be equally unmissable, so there's only one thing to do: make sure you don't miss it!

You can book your place directly via the Fan Club website - a weekend registration costs £65 for current fan-club members, and £80 for non-members. You can also book hotel rooms at a special rate agreed with the club - again, there's more info on the website. You'll have to be quick, though - there are limited numbers, and when they're gone, they're gone. reddwarf.co.uk will be there (ours is a pint of lager, thanks) - we hope to see you there too!

While Grant Naylor Productions fully supports the Dimension Jump convention, please note that it is not a GNP event, and is organised and run by the official Fan Club.
