Catch The Cast

Get your fix of Dwarfers this Autumn.

6 September, 2013

Summer may be over, but the sci-fi convention season never ends - and if you haven't had a chance to catch your favourite Red Dwarf stars out and about in public over the last couple of months, there are still plenty of opportunities to do so this year. Will you be the latest person to ask one of them whether or not there's going to be an eleventh series? Find out at one of the following events:

Catch The Cast

Sunday 8th September - NorCon, Norwich
The fourth annual Norwich sci-fi convention will feature a triple-whammy of Chris Barrie, Robert Llewellyn and Norman Lovett making signing appearances. Tickets for the one-day event can be picked up on the door for just £9.

Saturday 5th October - Def-Con II, Southampton
On the first day of this weekend charity event, the trio of Chris Barrie, Robert Llewellyn and Danny John-Jules are confirmed to appear, while Craig Charles is also pending confirmation. Tickets are just £4 on the door.

Friday 27th September - Old and New, Colchester Arts Centre
If you missed Norman Lovett's latest standup show during its Edinburgh Festival run, then never fear - there's still time to catch him performing it in Colchester later this month. Tickets are £10, and doors are at 8pm. Later in the year, Norman will also be performing the show at The Ark Theatre in Borehamwood, on Saturday 16th November.

19th-20th October - Armageddon Expo, Melbourne, Australia
Norman will also be making his first ever trip to Australia, to sign autographs at this two-day convention in Melbourne.

27th September - 2nd October - Robert Llewellyn at Waterstones
As we mentioned last week, Robert will be plugging and signing his newest book News From The Squares at Waterstones branches in Liverpool, Manchester and Nottingham. Some of these events include ticketed Q&As, so check with the individual venues first!

Various Dates/Venues - The Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club
Craig Charles has got a busy autumn of Funk & Soul DJ nights ahead of him, appearing in Croydon, London and Manchester in September, and St Helen's, Reading, Brighton and Manchester again in October.

Finally, if you fancy getting a Red Dwarf fix in the comfort of your own living room - and if those DVDs are just too far out of your reach to bother putting in - then it may interest you to learn that Dave are starting what appears to be another sequential run of the series. This Saturday 7th September at 11.40pm, they're showing The End and Future Echoes back to back, with the episodes shown again on Sunday 8th at 2pm. The following weekend sees Balance of Power and Waiting for God air at 11pm on Saturday 14th, with the Sunday repeat again at 2pm.

We don't know whether this run's going to extend past Series I, but it's always nice to see the show running in order on TV again, isn't it?

Keep up with Red Dwarf showings where you are in our Watch section!
