Lockdown Theatre II

The gang return with Rob Grant's Cruel Aliens!

20 May, 2020

If you enjoyed the first instalment of Lockdown Theatre - or, indeed, if you missed out on it altogether - then the second show is one you're not going to want to miss. For one afternoon only, Rob, Ed and Paul - plus an all-star cast - are inviting you to meet the Cruel Aliens.

Lockdown Theatre II

Cruel Aliens has existed in theory, for quite a while - indeed, you may recall reading about it in the news section of this very site in years past. It's an animated series concept created by Rob Grant, and originally in development at Aardman Animations. But it's never managed to make it out into the world - until now.

Once again, the Lockdown Theatre troupe - including Chris Barrie, Iwan Rheon, Robert Lindsay, Ruby Wax, Laila Zaidi, Hattie Hayridge, Lee Cornes, Frances Barber, Felicity Montagu and Olivia Nixon - will be performing Rob's script live over Zoom, directed by Ed Bye. This time around, we've another special guest too, in the form of Kevin Eldon (whom you might recall, among a glittering comedy career, as Twentica's 4 of 27).

The show takes place at 2pm on Sunday 24th May - assuming Zoom have no worldwide outages again this weekend! If you've already signed up for the weekly shows and you want to see this one, just make sure you have the "Lockdown Theatre" option checked on your opt-in preferences; and if you haven't joined us before, then fill out the form below to sign up!

We expect places to be in extremely high demand for this, and once again there is a limit on the number that Zoom will allow in. We hope to be able to accommodate everybody, so if you can't make the show but have previously opted in, please temporarily opt-out for this week; and even if you get an invitation link, make sure you turn up in good time to avoid disappointment!
