Competition Closes

The entries are in for our fantastic commentary competition.

2 January, 2004

For the last month we have been witness to the fascinating, the hilarious and, frankly, sometimes the downright disturbing. Yes, your entries for our commentary competition really were a joy to behold.

Competition Closes

The chance to record a half-hour commentary with a small group of like-minded (or possibly not) people was open to eight fans. The recordings - to be included on Series V's Back to Reality and Series VI's Gunmen of the Apocalypse - needed the most interesting, dedicated and quirky collection of people we could find. And boy did we find 'em.

Over the coming weeks we'll be calling those shortlisted and scheduling their day to come in, say hi to the cast and record half an hour of opinionated waffle in a session to be hosted by Andrew Ellard. Poor bastards. We'll be looking for people who can tell a joke, who know the show, and who can articulate themselves... but we'll settle for anyone who can get their trousers on the right way around.

Reading the 'most embarrassing moment' entries has been a... powerful experience. Never before have so many stories about vomit been collected in one place. Never have so many disgusting drunken tales been recounted. Never has public nudity - accidental or otherwise - been so lovingly lauded. But frankly even the strongest of stomachs would have been put off by the level of excretion stories on offer.

What's most worrying, though, is just how many of you seem to have called a teacher or other authority figure 'Daddy'...

Nonetheless we'll soldier on. Expect a report on the DVD commentaries, as ever, on reddwarf.co.uk when they happen.
