Merry Christmas

Season's greetings from Red Dwarf!

25 December, 2015

For those of you who wondered if we might update reddwarf.co.uk on Christmas Day, what with December 25th falling on a Friday this year... well, here's your answer. In this relaxing festive season, with production on Red Dwarf XI having wound down until the new year, we don't have a lot of fresh news to bring you - but we did just want to pass on a special Christmas message for those of you who remembered to check the site amid all the presents, turkey, sprouts, board games, Doctor Who and Downton.

2015 has been quite a year for Red Dwarf - it started out seeming like a quiet one, but everything changed with the May announcement that Red Dwarf XI and XII were going ahead, in conjunction with our new production partners Baby Cow and broadcasters UKTV/Dave. Who could have predicted just twelve months ago that by today we'd have six new episodes of the show recorded; and that, furthermore, those episodes would only be half of the longest production block we've ever done?

The new episodes that have been filmed so far have been attracting a hugely positive reaction from the fans who've seen them, and promise to take the show yet further into exciting new directions. We can't wait for you to see them, nor for work to start on the remaining six that will be filmed in January, February and March 2016. We're still waiting for official confirmation of exactly when in the year Red Dwarf XI will air - we'll bring you news of that as soon as we have it, but remember that until then, anything else you might hear about broadcast dates is speculation and nothing more!

On behalf of everyone here at Red Dwarf and Grant Naylor Productions, we'd like to thank you for your support for the show, and your visits to the site, over the last twelve months. As ever, it's the support of the fans that has kept Red Dwarf going all these years - and which has made the production of our eleventh and twelfth series possible in the first place. We hope you'll stick with us throughout the coming year as we bring you every bit of news about the new episodes in the build-up to their broadcast. It'd be silly to have come all this way and not to, right...?

From all of us here, have a very merry Christmas, and a happy New Year!
