Mac McDonald has had a bizarre and varied career. Comedian, actor, stage, film, TV. He's been a human jukebox and performed Tennessee Williams. He was in Aliens and The Fifth Element, as well as Black Books.

But, of course, you know him best as Captain Frank Hollister, the commanding officer (when alive) of the titular ship in Red Dwarf.

Greg Tiderington has interviewed Mac on Blog Talk Radio in a lengthy chat that takes in all areas of his career, including some Red Dwarf 'maybes' and 'never-weres'. The poor interviewer seems a touch nervous, and hilariously stomps on Mac's brilliant Batman punchline at exactly the wrong moment, but it's well worth a listen.
