(Another) Piece From The Dwarf

PBS competition to win a bit of the ship.

16 August, 2013

It's rare that we run a news update aimed solely at our chums across the Atlantic - although we know the lot of you are out there, hello - but this is just such an occasion. To celebrate the first U.S. broadcast of Red Dwarf X over the last month, Texas-based PBS station KERA are offering the opportunity for one lucky stateside fan to win one of those unique pieces of Red Dwarf history that come up every so often.

(Another) Piece From The Dwarf

As you may be aware, the Public Broadcasting Service relies largely on the generosity of its viewers in order to keep being able to buy in and broadcast programmes like Red Dwarf - and that means that every so often, they have to undergo pledge drives. There's one such drive going on for KERA at the moment, and as a special incentive to donate, they're offering a piece of the Red Dwarf ship model, signed by Doug Naylor to one randomly-drawn contributor!

All you have to do is head on over to the KERA pledge page and donate an amount of your choice - either choosing one of the fixed-price pledge drive gifts in the process, or simply choosing a particular amount out of the goodness of your heart. All contributors will then automatically be entered into the draw to win the prize. You'd better get a move on, though - your pledge must be received by 18th August in order to be eligible to win!

Unfortunately, for obvious reasons, the competition is only open to U.S. residents - although as far as we can see, anyone worldwide is welcome to pledge to KERA, so if you want to support the station that was the first to bring Red Dwarf to American shores, feel free to chuck a few coins their way anyway...
