A key moment in my history with Red Dwarf is the Series V episode Quarantine. Specifically the scenes with a stark-raving-bonkers Arnold Rimmer striding around in a gingham dress with a penguin glove puppet on his hand. Chris Barrie's performance was genuinely sinister to me, really creepy... and yet there I was, laughing.

The next day I had a mock exam. I'm not sure I got any of the answers right, but I'd doodled Mr Flibbles and crazy holograms all over the test paper.

Every Red Dwarf fan has moments like this in their past. Experiences of the show that just stuck with them. And right now the BBC are looking for your contribution to their My Science Fiction Life project.

Could you write an interesting, thoughtful contribution about how Red Dwarf has influenced or impacted upon you? Did seeing Ace Rimmer encourage you to pass your exams? Did Kryten provoke an all-new love of ironing? Are there scenes or lines that just seem to fit with your everyday life? (Hopefully not the 'Batman outfit' stuff.)

We'd like to see Red Dwarf picking up a lot more entries, but it's also about quality - make sure you have something to say. Find your unique perspective on the show and tell the world about it!
